Khai Rij & Nas

Khai                        Rij                        Nas

The usual suspects.  Three of my buddies from Uni travelled halfway across the globe just to see me.

This is how happy I am to see them.

We buy JR Rail passes and make our way down from Tokyo to Fukue via Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Nagasaki.  The first night I take them to have sushi.  Rij and Nas don't like it but Rij hides it better.  Three of us take a break in a Tokyo Department store while Khai buys a funky digital camera.

You Animals!!  What are you doing in Kabuki-cho?  Getting a massage no doubt.  Well, that was the plan, but Rij & Khai get hooked on the Taiko drum arcade game.

Check out the cherry blossoms in Ueno Park.

After Tokyo, we head on down to Kyoto and Nara to do a bit of sight seeing.  In Kyoto we see Kinkakkuji and KiyoMizuDera as well as some mean hanami (cherry blossoms).

Nara has a very impressive Giant Buddha, and some evil deer that try to kill me.

Hiroshima is a beautiful city.  We visit the A-bomb museum - something every visitor to Hiroshima should do.

Ouch!  Rij, You bastard!

We eat Okonomiyaki, Khai's favourite Japanese food.

It's kind of like a Spanish omelette.

Finally we make it to Fukue, where three more gaijin are able to
wreak havoc on this once peaceful community.

We frolic on the beach and enjoy the view.

We walk through a lava tube and find god.

Nas!  You animal!                                                            Khai, Rij!  You bastards!

Nas and Rij helped to teach these two kids.

Khai is king of the world.

Astrogirl!  You animal!

Khai and Rij enjoy the company in a snack bar.

A soft focus farewell in Fukuoka.

That's pretty much it for the photos.  We do a lot more besides, like more outdoorsy stuff, some bike-riding, watch some movies, go swimming, they meet all of my buddies here in Japan...  But mainly we just sit around and have a laugh - after all that is what friends are for.

If any of my other buddies want to come and visit - then just give me a call.
